The Williamston Theatre has developed a brand of heartfelt, touching and funny plays. It put on plays that, as the artistic director, Tony Caselli, likes to say, makes you laugh, makes you cry and makes you want to call someone after the show.

Its next show, “Chapatti,” directed by Lynn Lammers, is no exception.

It’s the journey of two people who have been wounded by life and are just now starting to rediscover what it means to have human contact and to connect with others. And they do this through their pets. Widower Dan is living in Dublin with his dog where he runs across Betty and her 19 cats. There is a spark between them and her laughter starts to light his life again.
