DETROIT, Mich.–The Detroit Repertory Theatre is accepting registrations for its Fall 10-week workshop, and scholarships are available to low to moderate income participants.

The cost is $185. The staff are working theater practitioners–Actors Equity Association members with high standards of professionalism and a deep passion for teaching actors

All experience levels are welcome please register for a placement audition ASAP as space is limited.

Founded in 1975, DRT’s Actors Workshop is a ten-week actor’s training program. Students will work on Voice & Diction, Improvisation, Scene Study and Audition Techniques. Join the Workshop to:
➢ Pursue a career in acting.
➢ Investigate a need for self-expression.
➢ Explore your creativity.
➢ Gain confidence in your communication skills.

Anyone 18 and over may participate and no prior experience is necessary. Potential students already on the DRT list will be given priority. Limited slots are available for this session. First come, first served.

Scholarships for low-to-moderate income students are available. Income verification documents must be provided. Tuition is $185 for the ten-week session. A minimum $95 tuition payment is required to register, with the balance due on or before the fifth week. All tuition payments are non-refundable.

Classes will be held from 9am to 1pm (see dates below). Typically, students spend 8 hours of preparation each week. Certificates are awarded to students who attend every class and have their instructor’s recommendation.

The Showcase is the finale of the Workshop. Students present scenes on the stage of the Rep before an audience of their invited guests.
