INTERLOCHEN, MI – Interlochen Center for the Arts has announced its fall and winter concert and performance schedule. The new list of programs for the annual Performing Arts Series brings a wide selection of plays, recitals and performances by not only international guest artists, but also the school’s students and its talented faculty.
The 2017-18 lineup includes appearances by jazz great Fred Hersch and the bestselling author and satirist David Sedaris, plus performances of the classic plays Tuck Everlasting, Oedipus Rex, A Streetcar Named Desire and the Tony Award winning musical, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Also appearing this fall are performances by the Juilliard String Quartet, the Wailin’ Jennys and dance troupe MOMIX, returning family favorites Collage, Sounds of the Season, Winterlochen, The Nutcracker, and much more.
“This lineup brings a considerable variety of shows to our campus,” says Rory Baker, Executive Director of Interlochen Presents. “We are presenting renowned classical guest artists including Joshua Roman and JACK Quartet, the Calidore String Quartet and the Goldstein-Peled-Fiterstein Trio. We also have Broadway’s Next Hit Musical, which is an improvised comedy show based upon audience suggestions. It’s a great group of programs with something for everyone.”
