‘Every Brilliant Thing’ opens at Tipping Point January 20; two actors will alternate performances
NORTHVILLE—Tipping Point will present the single-actor show Every Brilliant Thing January 18 through February 25.
Every Brilliant Thing is a show that uses care and humor to address the often under-discussed issues of depression, suicide and the impact these have on family members. The production features James R. Kuhl, Tipping Point’s producing artistic director, and Kathering Banks, who will alternate performances.
Every Brilliant Thing was written by Duncan Macmillan and Jonny Donahoe and originated at Britain’s Ludlow Fringe Festival in 2013. It has been performed at New York City’s Barrow Street Theatre and was recently the subject of an HBO documentary. Jonny Donahoe performed the play last September at UMS in Ann Arbor.
Tipping Point has partnered with St. Mary Mercy Hospital Livonia to present discussions on the topics raised in this show. Talkback sessions will take place after select performances of the show, and the first will be broadcast on Facebook Live on January 20th, 2018.
