While there, Clara falls in love with a young Italian boy named Fabrizio. Winner of six Tony Awards in 2005, "The Light in the Piazza" has been hailed as "The most romantic musical since 'West Side Story.'" The Kalamazoo Gazette's Mark Wedel applauded the performance, citing "stunning vocals" and "a top-notch cast." EncoreMichigan.com wrote, "'The Light in the Piazza' is an intelligent, haunting production that features Broadway-worthy lead performers and excellent musical direction."
