The Network of Ensemble Theatres (NET) seeks a production assistant intern, marketing intern, and hospitality/event manager intern for our regional Micro-Festival in Detroit Aug. 17-19.
The Network of Ensemble Theatres is a national coalition of ensembles created by and for artists that exists to propel ensemble theater practice to the forefront of American culture and society. NET links a diverse array of ensembles and practitioners to one another and the performing arts field, encouraging collaborations and knowledge building and dissemination. NET supports bold artistic and civic experiments and aims to heighten the impact and excellence of ensemble theater. Production assistant intern – The production assistant intern will work closely with the Micro-festival coordinator and the local Detroit planning team to coordinate logistics related to workshops, dialogue and performance activities for a 2.5 day theater festival. Intern may be responsible for communication with workshop facilitators, venue technical staff, coordination and oversee volunteers, and communicate with production staff from local and national theater companies being presented during the festival. Skills needed: organized, technical production experience, flexibility. Intern will have an opportunity to network and connect with a wide-range of theater companies, visual and performing artists, activists, and urban planners.
Marketing intern – The marketing intern will work closely with the Micro-festival coordinator and the local Detroit planning team to create press releases and develop a web-based marketing plan for this regional Micro-Fest. Intern may be responsible for communication with local planning team, local theater companies, and local presenting partners; communicate with workshop leaders and performers; generate web content. Skills needed: organized, strong writer, flexibility. Intern will have an opportunity to network and connect with a wide-range of individuals and arts organizations around the country and the Detroit area.
Hospitality/event manager intern - The hospitality/event manager intern will work closely with the Micro-festival coordinator and the local Detroit planning team to create a uniquely Detroit festival. Intern may be responsible for communication with local planning team, party planning, soliciting donations, and coordinating travel for out-of-town festival attendees. Skills needed: organized, strong writer, flexibility. Intern will have an opportunity to network and connect with a wide-range of individuals and arts organizations around the country and the Detroit area.
