FERNDALE - With the political season in full swing, Go Comedy! Improv Theater has set its site on the electorate with its newest original sketch comedy, "50 States of Grey," opening Sept. 13 and continuing through Nov. 2. The improv theater will also present "Impro Rebels" in tribute to Dan Sicko, a member of the improv community who lost a battle with cancer in 2011. Tickets to both are on sale now.
The American political landscape is a mess, and it's time to whip this country into shape. "50 States of Grey," Go Comedy!'s newest prime-time revue, takes a look at the fast-moving world around us and tries to make sense of this season's election chaos. Directed by Pj Jacokes with assistance by James Quesada, "50 States of Grey" is written by and features Steve Forbes, Joe Hingelberg, Suzie Jacokes, Carrie Parmenter, Travis Pelto and Dez Walker, with Jessica Loria as stage manager and Bryan Lark as Choreographer.
"50 States of Grey" will appear Thursday and Friday evenings at 8 p.m. Sept. 13 through Nov. 2. Tickets are $10-$15.
"Impro Rebels" is a one-act sketch show featuring a selection of scenes from author and improviser Dan Sicko, who lost a battle with cancer earlier in 2011. The comedy stars Steve Forbes, Michelle Giorlando, Jen Hansen, Joe Hingelberg, Aaron Johnstone, Clint Lohman, Jeff Mansk and Chris Petersen. "Impro Rebels" is directed by Pete Jacokes, with assistance from Bob Wieck. A portion of the proceeds from "Impro Rebels" ticket sales will benefit Ann Arbor's Camp Kesem, a free, student-run summer camp for kids with a parent who has (or had) cancer.
"Impro Rebels" will appear at Go Comedy! Thursday evenings at 10 p.m. Sept. 13 - Oct. 4. Tickets are $5.
Tickets are on sale now at www.gocomedy.net and can also be purchased in person at the Go Comedy! box office beginning at 6 p.m. Wednesday - Sunday evenings.
Go Comedy! Improv Theater is located at 261 East Nine Mile Road in Ferndale, MI 48220. Go Comedy! offers the finest in improv and sketch comedy, Go U! The Improv Academy training center, road shows, classes and workshops for private parties, corporations and schools.
