A concert reading of a holiday musical on New Year's Eve at 9 p.m.
Book, music and lyrics by Brendan Milburn, Rachel Sheinkin, and Valerie Vigoda
This concert-with-a-story, New Year's Eve show brings a a healthy dose of old-fashioned uplift, blended with a pinch of 21st-century skepticism. Weaving a modern-day New Year's Eve into Hans Christian Andersen's classic fable "The Little Match Girl," this unique hybrid of musical theater and live concert tells the story of a grumpy, overworked New Yorker whose resolve to spend New Year's Eve alone crumbles when an unexpected visitor brings some much-needed cheer. Directed by Ken Stevens and R. MacKenzie Lewis, this jazzy musical staged reading has an eclectic, vibrant pop/rock/jazz score and performs at Performance Network Theatre on Dec. 31 at 9 p.m. followed by a champagne reception at the stroke of Midnight! "Striking 12" is recommended for ages 13+.

World premiere comedy with music
Located at Broadway and 49th Street in Manhattan, the famous Brill Building was once the epicenter of the pop music universe, where a musician could find a publisher, cut a demo, promote the record, and make a deal with radio promoters - all within one building. In this "lyrical" comedy set in 1959, a washed up Big Band songwriter faces the inevitability of rock 'n' roll when a young woman shows up at his office with her guitar, her aspirations, and more than a few secrets. Can this odd couple make beautiful music together - or will their culture clash land one of them out on the streets? Featuring Phil Powers and Sarah Ann Leahy.
Jamie and Jordan
Children's Theatre Network
Book and lyrics by Kim Carney, music by Gene Gaunt
Born in the same hospital on the same day, neighbors Jamie and Jordan are lifelong best friends until a twist of fate (and ankle!) separates them. This hilarious musical tale teaches children about the importance of a healthy lifestyle and healthy friendship - both important for long lasting happiness.
