SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN – "To be or not to be?" isn't the only question two lucky patrons of professional Equity theater in Southeastern Michigan will ponder. The winners of the META Golden Ticket also will ask, "Which stage?" and "What time?"
Sponsored by the Michigan Equity Theatre Alliance, the META Golden Ticket is a special pass, good for a pair of season tickets to six of Michigan's top professional Equity theaters. In one year, the winners will be able to use one ticket to see 32 great shows – a $2,500 value.
The META Golden Ticket contest runs Nov. 28 through Dec. 23. The contest is free and open to the public. CLICK HERE to enter.
"The Golden Ticket contest was so popular last year, we had to bring it back," Lesley Braden, META executive director, said. "Winners get a chance to see a wide variety of comedies, dramas, musicals and thought-provoking shows presented by six of the finest theaters in the region. And if for some reason the winners can't attend each of the 32 productions, tickets are fully transferable so you can offer them to family and friends. This is the ultimate prize for theater lovers."
META is comprised of six award-winning professional theater companies in Southeastern and Central Michigan: The Jewish Ensemble Theatre (West Bloomfield), Meadow Brook Theatre (Rochester), Performance Network Theatre (Ann Arbor), Plowshares Theatre Company (Detroit), Tipping Point Theatre (Northville) and Williamston Theatre (Williamston).
META is a not-for-profit organization established to promote professional theater in Southeast Michigan. The organization was formed through a partnership between the Cultural Alliance of Southeastern Michigan and the Michigan Non-Profit Association, with financial support from The Kresge foundation and the Ford Foundation.
All META members are professional theater companies that produce shows under a contract with the Actors' Equity Association, the union of professional actors and stage managers. Each theater produces a unique season of plays for all tastes.
Members of the public are invited to learn more about META at www.metatheatres.org.
