NORTHVILLE – After garnishing rave reviews at Williamston Theatre last season, "This Wonderful Life" is making its way to Tipping Point Theatre for this holiday season. John Lepard reprises his award-winning role as George Bailey, Mr. Potter, and the entire population of Bedford Falls in this one-man stage interpretation of Frank Capra's 1946 film "It's a Wonderful Life."
Directed by Tony Caselli, Lepard's performance in "This Wonderful Life" is a tour de force as he tells the story of how one man (George Bailey) comes to learn the value of a simple life lived with humility, charity and dedication.
Playwright Steve Murray's script stays faithful to the film while also offering its own unique twists. Fans of the movie will enjoy this unique presentation of a revered film, and first timers will be introduced to a story that's sure to warm the heart. Everyone will appreciate the inspired work of Lepard, whose masterful performance gives life to a whole town full of people and brings a smile to your face along the way.
"This Wonderful Life" runs Dec. 21-31, with curtain times at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 2 p.m. Sundays, and a special 3 p.m. performance Saturday, Dec. 29. Be sure to join Tipping Point for a special New Year's Eve performance of "This Wonderful Life" on Monday, Dec. 31 at 8 p.m., which includes an afterglow party with appetizers provided by Rocky's of Northville, live music, wine and a toast close to midnight.
Tickets are $30 each for the performances Dec. 21-30; tickets for the New Year's Eve performance are $75 each, $50 of which is tax-deductible. "This Wonderful Life" is not included in SeasonPASSes, and no additional discounts apply.
