DETROIT - Due to popular demand, Magenta Giraffe Theatre Company of Detroit has extended by one performance its run of the world premiere of "Soul Mates" by local playwright Kirsten Knisely. Directed by Frannie Shepherd-Bates, the critically acclaimed production explores the concept of soul mates through a series of vignettes.
"We added the performance due to the unusually large number of advance reservations we've been receiving in general, and because the only matinee we had scheduled is nearly sold out," Shepherd-Bares explained. "We know that some people really prefer to see a matinee and may not have made reservations yet, and we didn't want them to be shut out."
The reaction to the show so far, she said, has been very positive. "So we anticipate having this 'problem' of selling out throughout the run! So why not give folks one more chance to see the show?"
The added performance will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24.
"Soul Mates" now runs through Feb. 24. Tickets are $15-$18, with pay-what-you-can tickets available to all performances. Tickets may be reserved by phone at 313-408-7269 or at www.magentagiraffe.org.
"Soul Mates" is Magenta Giraffe's second production in residence at The Abreact Performance Space, located at 1301 W. Lafayette, #113, Detroit 48226.
