Defiance will be served on stage as part of the Detroit Repertory Theatre's New Year's Eve celebration.
DETROIT - The Detroit Repertory Theatre will host it's annual cabaret-style New Year's Eve Celebration with a production of John Patrick Shanley's Defiance beginning at 8 p.m. with unlimited champagne, hors d'oeuvres, and after the performance, a buffet supper prepared under the direction of the Rep's resident chef, Dee Andrus.
Tickets are limited and $75 per person.
New Year's Eve at the Rep is in its 31st year. Nothing lasts that long unless there is a considerable amount of satisfaction. Folks come back year after year to enjoy the unusual, elegant and friendly party, as well as witness powerful theater that engages the heart and challenges the mind.
Audiences have been giving Defiance standing ovations night after night. The characters in this play are engaged in an ethical dance that keeps the audience in suspension all the way to a final act of defiance and redemptive deliverance. The play seems particularly appropriate for this holiday and political time.
The Rep has free, enclosed, lighted parking.
Tickets for New Year's Eve must be purchased with Visa or MasterCard by calling the Rep Box Office at 313-868-1347 or by visiting the Rep at 13103 Woodrow Wilson, Detroit.
