ANN ARBOR—Kickshaw Theatre presents an original 30-minute show called Here’s to You, Here’s to Me at local restaurants. Devised by a creative team of actors, improvisers and musicians, this nontraditional theatrical performance will incorporate song, dance, and the communal act of toasting.
With only 30 tickets available for each performance, the audience will be immersed in a unique theatrical experience. Kickshaw asks audience members to arrive early to purchase a drink. “Once you have a glass to raise, you will take a seat. As the story unfolds, you’ll be toasting along with us,” explains director Lynn Lammers.
Performances will be held Thursdays through Sundays, March 16 – April 2, 2017, at three downtown Ann Arbor locations: The Heidelberg Club Above (215 N. Main St.), Arbor Brewing Company Brewpub (114 E. Washington St.), and Agave Tequila Bar (formerly Sabor Latino, 211 N. Main St.). Tickets are $10 each, and patrons are required to purchase one beverage (which can be alcoholic or non-alcoholic) from the hosting restaurant.
The cast includes Dan Bilich (Ann Arbor), Ramona Burns (Detroit), Aral Gribble (Lansing), and Natalie Sevick (Flint). The creative team includes costume designer Em Rossi (Lansing) and set designer Charlie Gaidica (Northville). The production is directed by Lynn Lammers (Lansing).
- For those who prefer to avoid stairs, the best location to see the show is ABC Brewpub. That location will host shows on Sunday, March 19 and Sunday, March 26 at 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm.
- Agave/Sabor Latino requires three steps up to gain access to the performance space. That location will host a show on Sunday, April 2 at 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm.
- The Club Above is on the second floor of the Heidelberg and there is no elevator in the building. All Thursday, Friday, and Saturday shows are at this location.
