Shrek brings all the characters from the film to life on stage and proves there’s more to the story than meets the ears! Laugh along with the tale of the ogre Shrek, an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking Donkey and a feisty princess who resists her rescue. With book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire and music by Jeanine Tesori, the fairytale takes many fun and quirky twists as the green and stinky swampland ogre saves Princess Fiona and wins her love. The show lasts about two hours with intermission and is enjoyed by children and adults alike.
Performances are Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 3:00 p.m, which a special Saturday matinee on April 8. Tickets are $26.00 for reserved seating and are available online at www.riverbanktheatre.com or by phone at 810-278-1749.
This Riverbank production is directed by Kathy Vertin, with Vocal Director Aaron Dennis Smith, and Choreographer Brittany Smith.
The cast will be led by Sean Michaels as Shrek, Brittany Smith as Fiona, and Chase LePla as Donkey. And what fairytale is complete without a villain? Aaron Dennis Smith takes the role of the fierce, but diminutive Lord Farquaad.
