Monster Box Theatre and Mind the Gap Productions are teaming up to present The Lesson by Eugene Ionesco, one of the founding fathers of the theatre of the absurd. An evil comedy, it is chilling and macabre, riveting and hypnotic, yet with many funny moments. It will be performed in English, translated from the original French. The performers are Margaret Gilkes, Adrian Diffey, and Fran Potasnik. It is Produced by Paul Stark, and taking place in Monster Box Theatre’s intimate Black Box Theatre.

The Lesson is the longest running play in the world. It has been performed seven days a week for sixty years at Paris’s “Theatre de la Huchette”, always to a full house.
The Lesson opens for a preview showing Thursday, March 9 at 8:00 pm. Other showtimes are March 11, 17, 19, 23, 24, and 25 at 8:00 pm. The final showing is Sunday, March 26, at 2:00 pm. Doors open one hour prior to the performances so that patrons may enjoy a video presentation illustrating the 60 year history of the play, accompanied by French food and drinks.
