Established 2015, Blue Star Players is an international performing arts collaborative, specializing in new works performed in intimate and unusual spaces.

At the core of our organization is a group of multifaceted, performance-focused individuals committed to the creation of sophisticated, meaningful theatrical experiences that celebrate both the light and dark of the human experience. Our current bases of operation lie in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and London, England, and each member of Blue Star Players is a professional highly involved in our local arts community, performing, producing, directing, and writing for many companies.

In 2017, we have become a sponsored company of Fractured Atlas, who defines their mission as “Fractured Atlas empowers artists, arts organizations, and other cultural sector stakeholders by eliminating practical barriers to artistic expression, so as to foster a more agile and resilient cultural ecosystem.” In other words, we will be included under the umbrella of their non-profit status, and they provide us products and services that allow us to operate more efficiently.

While we are a professional company, we strongly believe that performing arts should be all-inclusive and encourage the education and participation of community members in each of the locations we perform. A limited number of positions per show will be available to those seeking to further their theatre arts education. We are also currently accepting script submissions from new and unpublished playwrights for consideration in our next season, and as we grow, plan to work in cooperation with our colleagues in London for a UK-US artist exchange.
