Summer Circle Theatre

For over 50 years, the MSU Department of Theatre has been producing free performances of a wide variety of shows outdoors near the banks of the beautiful Red Cedar River on the MSU campus. Presenting a blend of old favorites, musicals and provocative new plays, Summer Circle Theatre offers the community a unique opportunity to enjoy quality professional theater produced by faculty and students of the Department of Theatre in a relaxed, informal setting, rain or shine.

Bring your picnic and enjoy our summer season every June near the Banks of the Red Cedar River. Come early for the best seating. Be the first person to arrive on any show date and receive a free season pass to the upcoming Department of Theatre’s productions!

Summer Circle is easily reached via either the Collingwood entrance to MSU off Grand River or Auditorium Rd. off Bogue Street. Free parking is available in the lot across from the Auditorium Building. Performances in the Summer Circle Courtyard are located on Auditorium Road between the Auditorium Building and the Kresge Art Center.

Free Summer Circle Theatre remains dependent on donations from loyal patrons to maintain the quantity and quality of its town and gown productions.
