The Detroit Actor’s Theatre Company

The Detroit Actor’s Theatre Company (The DATC) is an organization centered on becoming an integral part of the city of Detroit. The DATC is dedicated to bringing community theatre back to the community. The DATC believes in artistic expression through a variety of mediums. Along with theatre, the company will feature film and dance in up-coming seasons.

The DATC will also offer a comprehensive educational program entitled F.A.M.E. (Fine Arts Mentorship and Education). F.A.M.E. will concentrate on four areas of performance and fine arts areas: film, dance, acting and voice.

The Detroit Actor’s Theatre Company is an organization that serves both its participants and its community. The DATC strives to provoke thought by producing works that deal with social justice or moral issues. We are committed to bringing works of theatre to our community that will create a conversation and help to “break the mold”.

Our goals go beyond the theatre and stage. It is our belief that we as artists have an obligation to reach out to schools and all students. We are committed to educating and enriching young lives through outreach programs centered around the performing arts. We consider our F.A.M.E. (Fine Arts Mentorship and Education) program to be a crucial element to our organization’s existence.

Finally, the organization hopes to help actors and actresses build a network of fellow performers in both the amateur and professional worlds. We are a diverse group of actors, actresses, musicians, dancers, and instrumentalists who deeply value our artistic works. We honor the creativity, expression, and individuality of each artist and audience member.
