Donate shoes and save on tickets to “Cinderella” at Broadway Grand Rapids
GRAND RAPIDS—Drop off a pair of used shoes at Broadway Grand Rapids and get a discount to the Broadway musical, Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella. A collaboration between BGR and In The Image, a local non-profit, that distributes free, back-to-school shoes to elementary students, is kicking off on August 10. BGR will be collecting used shoes and donations for In The Image from August 10- September 2, for the 20th anniversary of the S.H.O.E.S. program, where at-risk children in Grand Rapids receive a new pair of shoes for the school year. For every donation at BGR, customers will receive a $10 discount on tickets to attend Cinderella when it comes to the stage at DeVos Performance Hall September 27-October 2.
In The Image executive director Bethann Egan says, “This program has made a difference in over 50,000 children’s lives. Our goal this year to help over 5,000 students with a new pair of shoes and the confidence to start school off on the right foot.” Donating an old pair of shoes or making a financial contribution helps to change the life of a child by building confidence and providing a basic necessity to a child in need. The annual S.H.O.E.S program at In The Image begins the distribution of shoes to children on August 22.
Donations can be made for In The Image at the Broadway Grand Rapids box office at 122 Lyon St NW beginning August 10, where discounted tickets for CINDERELLA are also available. Discounts will be for all evening performances. For more information, call Broadway Grand Rapids at 616-235-6285.
