Ixion will premiere O.G. Ueberroth’s “The Amazing Jesus” opening September 24
LANSING—Ixion Ensemble will be performing O.G. Ueberroth’s original play The Amazing Jesus September 24,25, October 1 and 2 at The Robin Theatre, 1105 S. Washington Ave., in Lansing.
The setting is a cemetery on Dia de los Muertos and Leticia is struggling to find understanding, meaning and hope in a strange world filled with magicians and transforming uncles. Will she run out of breath before her mission to return a little magic to the world is complete?
O.G. Ueberroth is a Michigan-based writer, performer and producer. She most recently performed in Peppermint Creek Theatre’s Water by the Spoonful as Haiku Mom. Another memorable turn was her role as the Mother Superior in Lansing Community College’s production of Agnes of God. She has been a participant in Purple Rose Theatre’s Writers Workshop and has seen many of her scripts performed around Michigan. Her script Kintsukoroi debuted at the Renegade Theatre Festival this past August. The Amazing Jesus is her third collaboration with Ixion, where she also debuted Distance to the Son and Family Tradition.
“This marks the third of O.G.’s scripts that Ixion will have debuted,” observes croff. “We’re excited to bring this absurd and energetic show to the Robin stage.”
The Amazing Jesus is directed by Ixion Artistic Director, jeff croff, and features Angela Dill as The Moon, Charlsie Cole as La LLorona, Lauren Ezzo as Leticia, Sue Chmurynsky as Tia Nacha, Heath Sartorius as Tio Bocho and Ian Henretty as The Amazing Jesus.
