ANN ARBOR, Mich. – General auditions, organized by EncoreMichigan, will be held March 6th and 13th at The Berman Center for Performing Arts in West Bloomfield and March 25th at the Boll Family YMCA Theatre in Detroit.
The two audition sessions at The Berman will go from 6PM to 10PM. The session at The Boll will run from 9AM to 4PM. All sessions are subject to shorten up depending on demand from actors.
Appointments can be made by going to these online sign up sheets for the day you wish to audition. You may only sign up for one slot. Note that the March 13 session is monologues only. The sessions on March 6 and March 25th are monologues and vocal auditions. There is no dance portion.

There is no charge for auditioning. And these auditions are approved and supported by Actors Equity Association’s Chicago office.
Members of EncoreMichigan’s E-casting service need only bring copies of their resume, with a thumbnail photo printed on an ink-jet printer on regular copy paper.
Non E-casting members must bring a resume with 8X10 photo. The resume should be printed on the back of the photo or stapled at all four corners.
We encourage any and all actors, including AEA actors, to join our E-casting service. Not only do you make it much easier for casting directors to find you, and for you to update your resume and conflicts throughout the year, but you have access to our group discounts and will count yourself as being a supporter of EncoreMichigan, the very last media source in Michigan that covers professional live theater throughout the state and works to serve as a resource for the Michigan theatre community.
The link for joining E-casting is here.
There will be no printer available at the audition sessions.
Auditioning actors must arrive at least 20 minutes prior to appointment.
Those who book an appointment and do not show up without contacting 24 hours in advance will not be admitted to auditions the following year.
For March 6th and 25th, prepare a one minute monologue and one 32-bar cut of a song from the American theater. The monologue can be comedic or dramatic. For the March 13 audition, prepare two one-minute monologues – one comedic and one dramatic. Vocal auditions require that you bring your music properly marked for the accompanist.
