Nissan North America sponsors veterans to see ‘I’ll Be Seeing You’ in February

News February 03, 2017 David Kiley

ANN ARBOR, Mich.–Nissan North America, through a special grant to New Roads Media, has made it possible to offer a block of free tickets for the upcoming I’ll Be Seeing You, a musical play and love story about two people who met because of WW2, corresponded through the war and got married.

The play, written by David Kiley, and based on a book he co-authored [Writing The War: Chronicles of a WW2 War Correspondent], features iconic music from the early 1940s performed live, as well as some songs forgotten over the decades that are brought back to life. There is also a multi-media aspect of the show that makes the war in Europe and on the home-front come alive for the audience.

“I could not be happier about Nissan’s generous gift that will allow at least 75 veterans and their guests to see the show for free,” said David Kiley, who also directs and plays a WW2 radio announcer based loosely on legendary newsman Edward R. Murrow. “If we surpass the 75 number, then New Roads will absorb the rest…that will be a good problem to have,” said Kiley.

“Nissan has been a thoughtful and mindful company in supporting philanthropic and community activities, such as Habitat for Humanity and others. And we are fortunate that the company’s U.S. executives acted so quickly to support this play as well as our veterans.,” said Kiley. New Roads is working through the VA Ann Arbor Health System to get the word and opportunity to veterans.
