‘The Devil’s Music’ at Theatre Nova adds three performances April 27–29
ANN ARBOR, MI (Feb. 19, 2018) – Theatre NOVA has added three performances to their production of The Devil’s Music: The Life and Blues of Bessie Smith by Angelo Parra and Miche Braden: April 27 and 28 at 8:00 pm, and April 29 at 2:00 pm . The Devil’s Music features K Edmonds as Bessie and Brian Buckner as her piano player, Pickle and is directed by Lynch Travis. The production team includes Forrest Hejkal (scenic design), Daniel C. Walker (lighting design), Brian Buckner (music direction), Haley Cook (costume design), and Michelle Resnick (stage manager).
Angelo Parra is an American playwright whose first produced play, Casino, won a 1989 New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) Fellowship in Playwriting and an Arts International grant (sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts, U.S. Information Agency, Rockefeller Foundation, and The Pew Charitable Trusts). K Edmonds has appeared in dozens of productions in Michigan, most recently at Theatre Nova in The Revolutionists.
