Tickets on sale for Broadway in Detroit’s December/January run of ‘Aladdin’
DETROIT—Broadway In Detroit announced today that the Broadway musical Aladdin will begin performances at the Detroit Opera House on December 12, 2018 for a limited engagement of five weeks through January 13, 2019.
The show features music Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman, Tim Rice and Chad Beguelin, with a book by Beguelin, and is directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw. Aladdin is designed by Bob Crowley, with lighting design by Natasha Katz, costumes by Gregg Barnes and sound designed by Ken Travis. The production team also includes illusion designer Jim Steinmeyer, hair designer Josh Marquette and makeup designer Milagros Medina-Cerdeira. The music team is headed by music supervisor and music director Michael Kosarin, who also created the vocal and incidental music arrangements, joined by orchestrator Danny Troob and dance music arranger Glen Kelly.
Aladdin is adapted from the 1992 animated film and centuries-old folktales including “One Thousand and One Nights.
