Trish Harnetiaux’s ‘Welcome to the White Room’ next up at Ixion; opens October 20
LANSING–Ixion presents Welcome to the White Room by Trish Harnetiaux October 20, 21, 27 & 28 at the Robin Theatre, 1105 S. Washington Ave.
Welcome to the White Room is directed by Leo Poroshin and stars Nick Lemmer, Paul Schmidt, Jacquelyn Marks and Daniel Bonner.
Synopsis: The room is completely white. We discover Ms. White, Jennings, and Mr. Paine shortly after they have arrived, and follow their journey as they attempt to figure out exactly what they are meant to be doing. There are letters that only Ms. White can read. There is the arrival of The Last Deck of Cards in the World – and with, at all times, one-thing-leading-to-another – somewhere between throwing a party, suppressing sexual tensions, and dancing a tango – this senseless world summons its puppeteer, who’s in for a big surprise.
Leo Poroshin returns to Ixion after first appearing on stage in Glengarry Glen Ross. Past directing credits include: Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead and The Real Thing both at Riverwalk Theatre. He will return to the Ixion stage in their March production, Fight Girl Battle World by Qui Nguyen
Nick Lemmer (Mr. Payne) returns to the Ixion stage after co-directing last season’s Fears & Phobias. He has also appeared in Askew Askance A Squirrel! and She Kills Monsters. Nick will join Leo in Fight Girl Battle World as the other half of the two-headed alien fight promoter, Zimlek.
Paul Schmidt (Jennings) is making his Ixion debut after a long hiatus from theater. He is a local producer and multi-media creative.
Jacquelyn Marks (Ms. White) is making her Ixion debut. She has appeared in numerous musicals.
Daniel Bonner (Patrick) returns to the Ixion stage following his Pulsar-nominated performance in Broke-ology. Daniel has also appeared in Secrets and She Kills Monsters. He will return in March as the galactic terrorist Adon-Ra in Fight Girl Battle World.
