The show is directed by Joe Bailey. All performances will take place on the DPT stage inside the Robert A. & Maggie Allesee Hall at the Max M. and Marjorie S. Fisher Music Center, 3711 Woodward Ave., Detroit. For tickets and information, visit detroitpublictheatre.org or call (313) 576-5111.
Romance unfolds in a new musical wound around the tender love songs of Matthew Sweet’s landmark album, “Girlfriend”. Two teenage boys –one a bit of a social outcast and the other a popular jock – realize there’s more to life than what high school has taught them. This rock musical takes place in the tender moment between high school graduation and the rest of life.
