Dio casts for ‘It’s Only Murder’ and ‘Head Over Heels’ 12/10

November 27, 2019

It’s Only Murder

Jerome Teppel, a recently married, fairly well-off CPA, discovers that among his wife Francine’s monthly purchases was a gun. Shortly after that, Jerome is informed by his neighbor, Lenore Franklin, that his wife and her husband are having a torrid affair. What ensues next is murder, betrayal, a little sex and a lot of laughs.

Head Over Heels

HEAD OVER HEELS is the bold new musical comedy from the visionaries that rocked Broadway with Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Avenue Q and Spring Awakening. This laugh-out-loud love story is set to the music of the iconic 1980’s all-female rock band The Go-Go’s, including the hit songs, “We Got the Beat,” “Our Lips Are Sealed,” “Vacation,” Belinda Carlisle’s “Heaven is a Place on Earth” and “Mad About You.” A hilarious, exuberant celebration of love, HEAD OVER HEELS follows the escapades of a royal family on an outrageous journey to save their beloved kingdom from extinction.

SEEKING NON-EQUITY ACTORS FOR THE FOLLOWING ROLES IN IT’S ONLY MURDER:

JEROME TEPPEL – A CPA in his late thirties. Sweet, unsuspecting.
FRANCINE TEPPEL – Jerome’s wife in her late twenties. Seemingly innocent.
LENORE FRANKLIN – The Teppel’s next door neighbor in her early thirties. Smart and conniving.
SID DECKER – A very seedy Private Detective in his forties.

SEEKING NON-EQUITY ACTOR/SINGER/DANCERS FOR THE FOLLOWING ROLES IN HEAD OVER HEELS:

BASILIUS – King of Arcadia. A sexy, good ol’ boy. A hothead, but not a despot. Blindly thinks Arcadia is doing great under his masculine rule, which will be sorely tested during the course of the show. Male, 40s to 50s, vocal range G#2 – B4.

GYNECIA – Queen of Arcadia. Sexy, wise, beautiful. Like any longstanding spouse, knows how to get her way with her husband when push comes to shove. Female, 40s to 50s, vocal range Eb3 – E5.

PAMELA- Basilius and Gynecia’s older daughter. Confident and obsessed with her appearance. Known to be the most beautiful bachelorette throughout Arcadia. Female, mid to late 20s, vocal range E3 – Ab5.

PHILOCLEA – Basilius and Gynecia’s younger daughter. Shy and a “good girl”, she yearns to follow her heart rather than obey her father’s orders. Female, late teens to early 20s, vocal range G3 – B5.

DAMETAS – The King’s viceroy; father to Mopsa. Male, 40s to 50s, vocal range A3 – A4.

MOPSA – Handmaiden to Pamela. Warm, skeptical. Growing up without a mother has made her wise beyond her years about everyone and everything, which is why she is the (sometime) narrator to the show. Female, 20s, vocal range A#3 – F5.

MUSIDORUS – A handsome young shepherd who courts after Philoclea. Male, 20s, vocal range E2 to E5.

PYTHIO – The Oracle; powerful, mysterious. Demanding. Great sense of humor–can see through everyone–they are the Oracle of Delphi, after all. Performer isn’t limited to gender identity or ethnicity. 30s, vocal range F#3 – B4.

ENSEMBLE – Unique, charismatic individuals to inhabit the kingdom of Arcadia. Must be strong singers and must move well.
