Tipping Point Hiring For Two Positions

July 28, 2021

Associate Artist

This is a full-time (40 hr./wk) position. The Associate Artist is a very fluid position that takes on many roles and tasks in our organization with many focuses. The first focus of the position is on the skill sets, experience, and artistic desires of the individual and the application of those skills within the artistic output of the company. This position also focuses on the administrative needs of the company and how every member of the company can help shoulder those needs. Associate Artists report to the Producing Artistic Director.

The Associate Artist carries a responsibility to contribute to the artistic output of the theatre. This includes, but is not limited to, working with the Producing Artistic Director (PAD) to develop our season lineup and be a contributing force towards Tipping Point’s mission. Associate Artists also create, develop and foster relationships with artists outside of the organization. Once the season is approved, Associate Artists will work in collaboration with the PAD to fill artistic positions throughout the season. Those positions could include but are not limited to: Stage Manager, Assistant Stage Manager, Director, Designer, Actor, Production Artistic Director, Understudy, Technical Director, Build Crew, and Running Crew. Once production responsibilities are assigned to Associate Artists, the remainder of the available positions will be filled with other contract workers as decided by the Production Artistic Director. This process is repeated for the administrative positions of the organization. Those positions could include, but are not limited to, Daytime Box Office Manager, Production Box Office Manager, Production House Manager, and Building Maintenance. If an Associate Artist needs or wants training in any position, Tipping Point Theatre will provide that training based on the needs of the Artist.

All TPT employees must have a substantial need for the understanding of and commitment to being an inclusive organization. Mandatory training and workshops will be provided throughout the year. All employees are committed to mutual accountability of assigned roles and mutual celebration in achieving milestones and accomplishments.
