The citizens of Popcorn Falls are in trouble. Their signature waterfall dried up, the town’s losing money, and the evil Mr. Doyle is angling to turn the town into a water treatment facility. There is only one way to save the town – put on a play in one week. Filled with high stakes, crazy characters, and heart, Popcorn Falls proves once and for all that theater saves lives.
Popcorn Falls features two seasoned Michigan actors, Patrick Loos and Aral Gribble. They are tasked with bringing all of the town’s citizens to life. Loos and Gribble play 21 characters over the course of the show, each with their own handful of quirks and problems. Innovative costumes and props will lend to each character’s transformation.
Playwright James Hindman has proven to be versatile in the theatre world, succeeding in both writing and acting. While Hindman has spent much time in New York, his roots are in Michigan. Born in Detroit, he attended Eastern Michigan University as a theatre minor. A casting director encouraged him to leave to pursue his career in New York where Hindman studied with Sanford Meisner for two years.
