Flint Youth Theatre names Lluberes as new Producing Artistic Director

FLINT, Mich.–The Flint Youth Theatre (FYT) is proud to announce Michael Lluberes as the new Producing Artistic Director. Lluberes is the recipient of the ASCAP Foundation Harold Adamson Award, The American Harmony Prize and an NEA New Artist Initiative Award. He is a graduate of University of North Carolina School of the Arts.

Michael Lluberes is a member of The Acting Company, Lincoln Center Theater Directors Lab and The Dramatists Guild. As a playwright and director, his work includes award-winning plays such as The Boy in the Bathroom (New York Musical Theatre Festival Best New Musical and Best Book Awards), Peter Pan: The Boy Who Hated Mothers (BroadwayWorld L.A. Theatre Award Best Play), The Geranium on the Windowsill Just Died But Teacher You Went Right On(ASCAP/Dreamworks Workshop), Bayonets of Angst (NYMF), Twelfth Night (Sonnet Rep) and 1,000 Cats (HBO). Lluberes’ acting work includes: Dirty Dancing (U.S. Premiere National Tour), Off-Broadway: Heaven Knows (Ensemble Studio Theatre), American Dreams, Pudd’nhead Wilson, The Taming of the Shrew,and television’s “Chappelle’s Show”, “Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn.” To learn more about Lluberes, please visit his website www.MichaelLluberes.com.
