Save The Date for the 2017 Wilde Awards
ANN ARBOR, Mich. –EncoreMichigan announced that the 2017 Wilde Awards, which recognize the best artists, performances and productions as voted on by the Encore critics, will be held at The Berman Center for Performing Arts in West Bloomfield, Michigan on Monday, August28.
A cocktail social hour will begin at 6:30PM and the award proceedings will begin at 7:30PM. Advance tickets will go on sale July 1. But put this date in your calendars now.
“We had another remarkable season of wonderful performances, new scripts, touring shows, and it all makes the voting extremely difficult,” says EncoreMichigan publisher David Kiley. “It’s difficult every year, and there is a lot of debate among the critics after we have scored each show that we review for technical and artistic expression.
Categories will be largely unchanged from last year.
Publisher David Kiley and actor Roy Sexton will co-host the award show.
Entertainment for the show and ticket pricing will be announced July 1, as will be ad opportunities in the show program.
“There are going to be many improvements to the show,” said Kiley. “The entertainment is going to knock people’s socks off, and the award show aspect is going to nip along at a faster pace.” Also, said Kiley, “We are making sure there is more adequate bar service, which was a bit of a problem in 2016.”
“This is going to be a show that not only the industry is going to want to come to, but theater lovers. It’s going to be a fun, fun night.
