Three premiere Detroit arts organizations come together for this October’s Fall of Freedom activation in Detroit. Detroit Public Theatre, The Obsidian Theatre Festival and The Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History. The three organizations will present Undersiege, a monumental collective work centering the voices and experiences of Black women and femmes, on Friday, October 2, 2026.

Meadow Brook Theatre debuts a hilarious classic western comedy to open their season this October. Written by Jethro Compton and based on a short story by Dorothy M. Johnson, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance is a tale of good versus evil, law versus the gun, and love versus revenge set against the vicious backdrop of a lawless society.

Audiences will relive The Beach Boys experience with the rich vocal harmonies and sun-kissed catchy tunes that made the group a global sensation. Conducted by Scott Speck, the concert takes place at 7:30pm Friday, October 2 at the Frauenthal Center, 425 W. Western Avenue, Muskegon, MI.
