DESCRIPTION

Synopsis: When a close-knit book club agrees to be filmed for a documentary, its members promise to behave naturally. But with the camera always watching and a provocative new member joining the group, polite literary discussions quickly give way to long-held secrets, personal rivalries, and unexpected revelations. Karen Zacarías’s The Book Club Play is a fast-paced comedy about friendship, self-image, and what happens when people begin reading between the lines.


Auditions have concluded, but urgently seeking the following:

Lily Louise Jackson Female-presenting, Black, 20s. An ambitious go-getter and former debate captain who stays on top of current trends but can still put her foot in her mouth in social situations. She laughs at both appropriate and inappropriate moments. A great lover of books and Ana’s protégée at the newspaper.


Rehearsal Location:

315 Fisher Rd, Grosse Pointe


Performance Dates:

February 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 27 7:30 pm/February 21, 28 2:00 pm


Performance Location:

Schaap Center, 15001 E Jefferson Ave, Grosse Pointe Park Rehearsal Schedule: Starting as early as Monday, October 26 -Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 7:00 – 10:00 pm (Tentative)
