DETROIT – Detroit Opera Presents Hallelujah, It’s the Holidays!, a new holiday series at the historic Detroit Opera House, in the heart of downtown Detroit, offering unforgettable nights of ballet, film, Broadway brilliance, and soul-stirring gospel.
The series kicks off with the much-anticipated return of The Nutcracker, the quintessential holiday classic, back for the first time in seven years. Detroit Opera House is partnering with Grand Rapids Ballet to bring their beloved production to the opera house stage for three performances on Thanksgiving weekend. Concluding the series is A Gospel Holiday Celebration, a world premiere production created by Detroit Opera House Presents and Chew Entertainment, their second collaboration following January’s sold-out Symphonic PFunk concert with George Clinton and the Detroit Opera Orchestra. Guest artists include American gospel star Kim Burrell and Detroit natives The Clark Sisters.
