GhostLight & Cabaret313 Partner Again to Bring Performance to Detroit Neighborhoods
Cabaret 313 & GhostLight Launched My Voice, My City Last Spring.

DETROIT, MI — After an amazing debut performance this past spring, GhostLight and Cabaret 313 reunite for the second installment of Cabaret in Conversation, My Voice, My City featuring Jynn Cole.
The performance will take place Friday, November 20th, 7pm, at the James E. Tate, Jr. Community Center. Tickets are free for all, but registration is required.
Popular Detroit vocalist Jynn Cole will be joined by Music Director and pianist Brian Buckner, in an intimate evening of music and storytelling rooted in the city’s rich creative legacy.
Cole embodies Detroit’s deep musical tradition, having performed alongside artists including Karen Clark Sheard and Angela Winbush. With her band Jynn and Juice and her debut EP Honey Fall, she brings a sound that bridges classic R&B with contemporary storytelling. Joining Cole and Buckner are Matt Ryan (bass) and Russell Sauter (drums).

“Detroit has influenced every part of who I am as an artist from the soul and honesty in the music to the resilience in my story.” says Cole.
“Every song represents a different version of me…creating a space where the audience can connect, reflect, and celebrate growth together.”
Cabaret in Conversation brings cabaret into community-centered spaces, offering a relaxed and accessible experience that blends live music with personal narrative. The event is free to attend with advance registration, creating a welcoming entry point for audiences new to the art form.
In the first performance Cole was joined by Tavon Webb, a Wayne State University Senior. Webb was most recently seen in One Monkey Don't Stop No Show, directed by GhostLight ED John Sloan III.
“I’ve always loved cabaret,” says Sloan. “It fosters incredible intimacy between the artist and the audience, and this type of performance tradition has a long history in Black culture. We’re thrilled to keep building on that legacy and ensure that arts access exists in neighborhoods across Detroit."
