"If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense," - Alice Through The Looking Glass at Thumb Coast Theaters is a wonderland adults will enjoy even more than the kids.

Alice enters a fantastical world by climbing through a mirror into the backwards world beyond it. Just like a reflection, everything is reversed, including logic. Running helps you remain stationary, walking away from something brings you towards it. This fantasy is set on a giant chess board where the chessmen are alive and beloved characters like Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, The Red Queen, and Humpty Dumpty come to life in a brand new way.

Artistic Director, Brittany Everitt Smith, who is directing this fantastical show says, “If I had to pick a line that sums up the spirit of Alice Through the Looking Glass it would be this interaction between Alice and the White Queen:

Alice: There's no use in trying, one can't believe impossible things.
White Queen: I daresay you haven't had much practice. When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast!

All of the characters Alice meets boss her around, offer critique and tell her how she is to behave. As a mom of two young girls it reminds me of the fine line we tread as parents - wanting to raise polite, well behaved children without squashing their precocious, curious spirits. Alice Through the Looking Glass is a chance for young and old alike to enjoy the magic of live theater and dwell in the unlimited possibility of imagination for just a couple of hours.”

Samantha VanCamp stars in the role of Alice alongside a talented cast containing Mike Danaj, Ian Fancis, Adam Sanborn, Emily Nichter, Chase LePla, Sara Catheryn Wolf, Colleen Everitt, Mitchell Sobolewski, Sean Michaels, Kaylee May, and Anita Newby.

Alice Through the Looking Glass is produced in special arrangement with The James Reaney Family and runs March 22 - April 19 at The Boardwalk Theatre. Tickets are $38 and can be purchased at thumbcoasttheaters.com or by calling the box office at 810-278-1749.
