Sarah Clare Corporandy (she/her/hers) is a Co-Founder and Co-Producing Artistic Director at Detroit Public Theatre. She will return to the stage in DPT's World Premiere production of Soft Target, opening on May 4th.

How did you get started in the arts?
I was in a preschool play of "Caps for Sale" and never looked back!
If you could direct/produce one show, what would it be, and why?
The Lieutenent of Inishmore. I have a thing for Martin McDonagh's work. I remember seeing that play on Broadway and having one of those all encompassing amazing theatrical experiences, awed by the script, the acting, the production qualities and the surprise of it all.
If you could play one character in all of theatre or film, who would it be and why?
Halina in Indecent
Barbara in August Osage County
Caitlin Carney in The Ferryman
Name an artistic role model and why you look up to them.
Philip Seymor Hoffman. He was a beautiful actor.
What did you want to be when you were a child? Are you fulfilling that dream?
An Actor. I am fulfilling that dream but not always in the way that I thought I would. What I did not know as a child was that part of wanting to be an actor was also wanting to be a part of community, of a community of artists. And so in that sense, whenever I am working in the arts I am fulfilling that dream, whatever role I am playing. I have learned to gracefully ride the ebb and flow of the field, my career and the surprises of the journey.
What is your artistic guilty pleasure?
I make art in my attic. There is lots of glitter involved.
What role/show/experience on your resume is most memorable and why?
Maybe Wit, at Breathe Art Theatre Project. It is a good play. We performed it in both Detroit and Windsor, it was directed by my dear friend Courtney Burkett and it starred by high school acting teacher and vocal coach, Diane Hill. It was a fulfilling process and a good room to be in.
What is your dream for the Michigan Arts Community?
Abundance!
