An Exciting Production Opened Last Weekend in Walled Lake

The Inspired Acting Company opened a new production of Home by Samm-Art Williams.
Opening Friday, March 6, Home is a lyrical and emotionally resonant story of
resilience, identity, and belonging. The play follows Cephus Miles as he journeys through
love, incarceration, displacement, and ultimately the search for dignity and home. In this
inventive theatrical form, two actresses portray more than forty characters, shifting
seamlessly between roles to conjure an entire community around Cephus’s journey.
Filled with lyrical poetry, music, and dance, Home is an emotional exploration of pain, resilience, and the unyielding hope for redemption and belonging.
“Live theatre is alive,” Producing Artistic Director Jeff Thomakos.
“...Home is a powerful and necessary piece, and we are proud to bring it to our community with a cast fully prepared to honor its depth and humanity.” Thomakos continued.
The cast features three Michigan regulars, Tayler Jones, Dan Johnson (AEA), and Bryana Hall (AEA). Hall also directed the production.
Originally scheduled to open in late February, the production was briefly delayed due to
unexpected casting changes.
Performances run March 6 through March 15, 2026, at The Inspired Acting Company,
located at 1124 E. West Maple Road, Walled Lake, MI 48390.
Tickets are available now at inspiredacting.org. Group discounts are available.
