Stan Zimmerman grew up in Southfield, MI and went on to write for some of TV’s most beloved series including The Golden Girls, Roseanne, and Gilmore Girls, as well as the feature films The Brady Bunch Movie and A Very Brady Sequel. He will be at the Sunday, October 26 performance and will lead a talk-back after the show.

Set in an iconic mid-century Palm Springs house, Silver Foxes follows three older queer men as they band together to rescue their friend from a homophobic assisted living facility. Along the way, they juggle stray cats, online hookup sites, chaotic neighbors (a real estate-ravenous lesbian couple!), a jilted Twink, and the everyday absurdities that life throws at aging and queer identity. It’s a comedy full of heart, sharp edges, and outrageous moments, celebrating chosen family in all its flawed glory.

Packed with razor-sharp humor, outrageous antics, and a tender core, Silver Foxes is a love letter to queer resilience across generations. It’s The Golden Girls meets Grace & Frankie—but unapologetically gay, gloriously camp, and full of heart.

“What I think audiences will enjoy most in this campy and clever play is that it shows gay love—both at its silliest and its fiercest—is resilient and inspiring to all of us at any age, and that chosen families are just as valid as any other,” says director Matthew Rindfleisch.

Silver Foxes is directed by Matthew Rindfleisch and Gretchen Schock. The cast is made up of Lindel Salow as Chuck, Jay Kaplan as Benny, Joe Bailey as Cecil, and Justin Bugeja as The Twink; Melissa Beckwith rounds out the cast playing multiple characters. The rest of the creative team includes Harry Totten as stage manager, David Wojtan with set design, Steve Schock as set construction, costume design is by Vince Kelley and sound and lighting design by Brandy Joe Plambeck.

Tickets for Silver Foxes are $25 for performances on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and $15 on Monday. Tickets are currently available at theRingwald.com. The Ringwald is cashless but credit cards will be accepted at the door. Performances on Friday, Saturday, and Monday are at 7:00 PM and Sunday at 3:00 PM. The Ringwald is located inside of Affirmations Community Center at 290 W. 9 Mile Road in downtown Ferndale, Michigan.
