TWO GENTLEMEN OF VERONA Comes to Fenton’s Rackham Park
FENTON, MI — Wishing Well Theatre Inc. is proud to present a fast-paced, festively physical adaptation of Shakespeare’s The Two Gentlemen of Verona, staged in the beautiful outdoor setting of Rackham Park in downtown Fenton, MI. Bring your lawn chair or blanket, and enjoy the adventure, live music, and laughter of this 90-minute “comedy of the heart.”
Follow Proteus, Valentine, Julia and Silvia as they navigate first love, shifting loyalties, and the messy, hilarious, sometimes heartbreaking journey toward adulthood. Fleeing the city upon the orders of the Duke, they collide with a band of outrageous outlaws in the forest…where at last chaos gives way to recognition, remorse, and the grace of forgiveness. Featuring a cast of vibrant characters…including the clownish servant Launce and his scene-stealing dog, Crab.
Script adaptation by Robert Kauzlaric with original music by Russell Gillespie, and directed by acclaimed Michigan theatre artist Janet Haley, this production promises a charming evening of laughter and delight. Recommended for audiences ages 14 and up.
