DESCRIPTION

Seeking an actor to play two characters in the 2025 Summer season. $125/day & $16/hr. for rehearsals, costume fittings and/or production meetings. 4 shows daily, 4 days a week from May-August 2025. Actor will play one of the two roles per day.

James Kanada in 'Market Season' at Detroit Central Market Market Season depicts the unlikely friendship between historical Detroiters as they prepare for the opening of a new market season. James Kanada is a witty man.

Formerly enslaved, James moved to Michigan with the intent to settle land and run a farm of his own. Known as the First Black Frontiersman, he eventually settles 5 acres, which he grows to 25 acres while employing a staff member onsite.

Elijah McCoy in Elijah 'The Real' McCoy at Town Hall Elijah McCoy recaps his life from his time as a young boy to his place as one of the nations most prominent inventors, holding nearly 100 pattens. This one man show depicts the outgoing Elijah through his life's journey, working on the railroad and eventually innovating the railway and transportation industries.
