Buckham Alley Theatre presents Trifles & Truths!

Flint, MI - Buckham Alley Theatre is proud to offer four important dramatic works to Genesee County all summer long.

"Trifles" by Susan Glaspell explores the oppression of women, the power of gender roles, and the limitations of justice in a patriarchal society. The play highlights how men dismiss women's concerns as trifles, ultimately blinding them to the truth about the murder and Minnie Wright's motivations.

A selection of three ten-minute plays, all by Pat Motley, from the collection Plays on Principle offer a compelling look at the human condition. “Just Deserts” delivers a darkly comedic exploration of karma and accountability as two high school students face unexpected and sometimes absurd consequences for past actions. “Enough” poignantly captures modern anxieties and the relentless pursuit of satisfaction, questioning societal pressures and

the true meaning of contentment. Finally, “The Cutting” presents a tense and emotionally charged examination of relationships under pressure, delving into themes of sacrifice, loyalty, and the profound impact of difficult choices.

Performances for small groups have been happening and there are some available slots still available. Interested parties may fill out this form.

A culminating finale of all four plays will take place at Brennan Community Center (1301 Pingree Avenue) August 8 & 9 at 7pm and August.10 at 2pm.. Tickets are $10 (BAT members get $2 off).
