Michigan Jazz Composers in Concert Detroit June 14Love, War and Jazz National Tour

DETROIT—Michigan composers will be in concert on a national touring show in Detroit on June 14, 2025. Love, War and Jazz is based on the true story of soldier-musicians who served in WWI Paris, bringing jazz for the first time. The composers are Heather Buchanan and Detroit Music Awards winner Tracy Kash (Best Jazz Vocalist).

“This musical is a highpoint of my career,” Kash said, “allowing me to explore a full range of musical possibilities to tell this story.”

Kash began her musical life as a classical musician. She received a Bachelor’s degree from University of North Texas and a Master’s degree from the venerable Boston Conservatory, in

orchestral music and music theory. Kash is an accomplished flutist, vocalist, composer, arranger,

and pianist.

Love, War and Jazz also features Detroit producer and director Grover McCants as the Emcee and vocalists Angela Celeste May and Smada Adams. Upcoming shows include Detroit, New York,

Cleveland, Chicago and Kansas City.
