New Film Features Northern Michigan as a Prominent Character in this Coming-of-Age Tale, AN AUTUMN SUMMER
An Autumn Summer tells the tale of Kevin (McKenna) and Cody (Maxwell), a young couple spending the final month before college in a magical Michigan lake town, chasing an endless summer.

Director of Photography is Brandon Somerhalder, whose work on The Queen of Basketball won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Short in 2022, and whose 2026 documentary Come See Me in the Good Light received an Academy Award nomination for Best Documentary Feature. An Autumn Summer is his first and only narrative feature to date.
The supporting ensemble for An Autumn Summer includes Julian Bass, Jun Yu, Tony Horton (author, motivational speaker and creator of the wildly popular best-selling fitness series P90X), Louise Barnes, and Katie Baker.
An Autumn Summer has been an award-winning standout on the festival circuit since its world premiere at the Heartland International Film Festival in 2024, with official selections including the Phoenix Film Festival, Miami Film Festival, Central Michigan International Film Festival, Blue Whiskey Independent Film Festival, Lake Michigan Film Festival, East Lansing Film Festival, Woods Hole Film Festival, and the Northeast Film Festival. The film has earned multiple awards during its festival run, including honors for acting (Lukita Maxwell), directing, cinematography, production design, and sound design.
